About Me

Benefitia Form Writing was born out of my own experience of filling in Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Personal Independence Payment (PIP), and Attendance Allowance (AA) forms on behalf of others since 2022.

Every claim that I have facilitated has been successful, and seeing the positive impact that this has made in the lives of those I have assisted, started me on this journey of wanting to help more people through the same, sometimes confusing and complicated, application process.

My Background:

I have a BA Hons in Social Sciences and English from St John's University in York (1994) and this has provided me with skills in social research methods (researching and analysing the government guidance that underpins the sickness and disability benefits) and how I can use these to inform how I write or check every form. It has also helped me to gain understanding into policy making and what shapes social policy in the UK specific to sickness and disability benefits.

My background is in Early Years and Nursery Management, so I have an excellent knowledge and understanding of child development. I have worked with children and young people from birth up to the age of 18. I also have personal insight into what it’s like when your child has an illness or a disability which is life long. I have experience of working with both children and adults who have ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as those who have complex medical conditions, both hidden and visible.

The process of helping others write their Attendance Allowance form has given me a greater appreciation of the challenges and difficulties faced by those who have a dementia diagnosis as well as other age-related degenerative conditions and illnesses. I also have first hand experience of supporting someone dear to me who has been living with dementia and other medical problems, for a number of years.

I have undergone in-depth training to qualify as a professional form writer and advocate in the hopes that my services will benefit many people. I keep my prices on par with other non-profit advocacy services, so that I can help as many people as possible.
